Safety Test, Study Blue, and Remind

Safety Test: Students in Culinary Arts I will be taking a Safety Test on Thursday, for periods 1,2, &3 and on Friday for periods 4 & 5. Students must pass with an 85% or better in order to cook. If students don't pass the first time, they may retake it after they have studied a little more.

Study Blue: To help students study, I have created a set of flash cards on an online site called: http://www.studyblue.com. Students can study online or on their phones or iPad by downloading the studyblue app.

To create an account online - follow these steps:

1. Go to http://www.studyblue.com
2. Click on Join Now at the top of the page.
3. You can sign up with email.
4. Fill in the requested into then click Join Study Blue
5. Click on I am a student
6. Enter School Name as Rio Norte Junior High
7. Enter Class as Culinary Arts
8. Enter Teacher: Mrs. Moore

You can then click on the food and Kitchen Safety Deck. Click on Flip Cards, choose how you want to see the questions, then start. If you answer a question correctly, click the thumbs up, if you get it wrong, click the thumbs down, (you can go back to those later.)

You can create your own set of flash cards for any of your classes, or you can search to use other students' decks.

Remind: Is a program that allows me to send text messages to those who join my class, without them knowing my cellphone number and I don't need to know students' or parents' cell phone numbers, so we are all protected. Short reminders will be sent periodically, reminding students of upcoming important due dates and events. Joining is very simple:
